In Northeast Thailand rice is the most important crop.  Thai people eat rice with every meal.  In this picture rice has been planted in a flooded field.

In this field, next to the flooded field, rice has been growing and will soon be ready for harvesting.

Farmers in Thailand do most of their work by hand.  They do not have lots of machinery to help them do their work.  Many farmers use water buffaloes to do the work that machines do in other countries.  Other important farming crops in Northeast Thailand are sugarcane and cassava.
